Explore Wins 7 Telly Awards in 42nd Annual Competition

CHICAGO, IL – Explore, a commercial production company creating award-winning commercials & digital content for advertisers, was recently awarded seven trophies in the annual competition. With these 7 Telly Awards, Explore has now won 61 of the prestigious awards over the course of their 17-year history.  

 

Better Banking

“Better Banking”, produced for Teacher’s Credit Union (TCU) won four Tellys, including 2 Silvers, in the following categories:

  • Directing Craft – Jeremy Pinckert

  • Editing Craft – Jill Dugan

  • Cinematography Craft – Jason Chiu

  • Banking TV Commercial

The ad features a meta foray into time travel, poignant dialogue, and unique transitions & match frames director Jeremy Pinckert & cinematographer Jason Chiu planned in-camera, and editor Jill Dugan cut together in post. Through it all, the timeless story of a woman thinking about her path in life resonates in this spot, titled “Better Banking”


DeLorean Delivery

“DeLorean Delivery” won a Telly Award in the Directing Craft category. Produced for Voodoo Ranger’s agency of record, Fact & Fiction, the project features a fleet of DeLoreans – the same car made immortal by the blockbuster franchise “Back to the Future” – as they swoop down on a Covid-locked-down Chicago to delivery their latest hazy IPA beer to the needy citizens. The brainchild of Exec.Creative Director Rob Lewis from Boulder’s Fact & Fiction agency, directed by Jeremy Pinckert in a post-apocalyptic Midwest setting in late May, 2020.


The Graduates

“The Graduates” won a silver Telly Award in the Retail TV Commercial category. The heartfelt commercial for Martin’s Super Markets featured the stories of real high school and college seniors who missed their graduations during the Covid-19 adjusted reality of spring 2020.


Dedicated As Ever

 “Dedicated as Ever” won a Telly Award in TV Commercial: Banking category. Contracted just after the United States ordered a shut down in March of 2020, Explore produced this spot remotely using these rules: Using only real bank employees, following all safety/social distancing guidelines, using only available light, and turning the barriers between face to face contact into a symbol & a metaphor. The spot gained recognition on TV and online as one of the first commercials to address the Covid-19 pandemic, featuring a Zoom video grid which would soon be copied and featured in spots around the world.
